Dr. K. Venugopalan is Professor in Physics and currently Head of the Department. He is also the course director of Informatics and Computational Science programme under which M.Sc. (IT) course is offered by the department. He is the co-ordinator of University Internet Centre. Dr. Venugopalan leads the hyperfine interaction group. His research fields are development of nano magnetic materials, Mössbauer spectroscopy studies in magnetic alloys, compounds, films and minerals and Perturbed angular correlation studies in solids. He teaches Nuclear Physics, Condensed matter physics, Electronics, computational methods, computer networking to post graduate students.
